About me

Hi! I’m Destiny (Sakeozo).

I’m a Deaf artist, cartoonist and animator. I split my time between Pittsburgh, PA and Portland, OR.

I make comics, animations and illustrations that tell stories with pictures first. Most of them star my own characters. Some of them star my geckos.

I’ve freelanced for nearly two decades. When the industry doors weren’t open to me, I built my own. So I know how to plan a project, keep it organized, and keep the art clear.

My ASL introduction, with captions and a transcript, comes next.

Yo, I’m Destiny: a moving collage of my work. A 15 second looping collage of my drawings: geckos, comics, characters and me waving hello. It has no sound.

The real stars of the show. Meet my geckos.

(And my cat. She insists.)

When I’m not drawing

I’m hanging out with my cat and my three silly geckos, sipping matcha, or listening to music (metal or electronic, please) with my one cochlear implant.

I collect cute things, raw crystals and bugs (moths especially!!). I take photos while I frolic around in nature. And yes, I will always eat the store samples, just like my Nana would have. :P

Panel 1: 12 AM
(12am) I just updated a nicer picture of myself online!
Destiny, a woman character with blonde and brown hair, wearing cat-ear headphones, and glasses, sits at a computer desk. She is giving a thumbs up. On the monitor is a real-life photo of Destiny herself. The desk is cluttered with a water bottle, toothpick, keyboard, mouse, ear swab, and a drawing tablet monitor.
At the center of bottom under panel, there's an artist's watermark logo by Sakeozo. Icon featuring ILY pet.

You clicked on the gecko, that means you like geckos too. Look at my geckos. :D

Dot is not a gecko.
